Can Talaias, Ibiza

Can Talaias On the beautiful island of Ibiza Can Talaias, “the house on the hill” is perched above the pretty village of San Carlos, in an unspoilt area with beautiful beaches, forests and caves nearby,

While riding horseback one morning in the late sixties, actor/comic  Terry-Thomas and his wife Belinda discovered "Can Talaias" and it is now run by their son, Cushan and his wife, Laetitia. It was just an old, rundown hilltop finca surrounded by dry wheat fields and carob trees but, with the breathtaking views, it was heaven on earth. It took years to build the main house which was extended from the original finca. The improvements were done in a gorgeous Ibicencan style, with thick walls and soft rounded edges, dark wood floors, the large arched windows (with cushions) and lovely fire places.

Can Talaias was one of the first Agro Turismo (rustic) hotels on the island. With just six exclusive, individually designed rooms, it offers tranquility and luxury in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

From the beautiful gardens, there are stunning views across the pine forests to the Mediterranean. The pool is designed to look more like a natural pool than a swimming pool, adding to the oasis-like feeling. There are also greenhouses and nurseries cultivating indigenous species of waterwise plants – a visual feast of amazing forms, colours and flowers.
